The Spike Award goes to the GAHBA member who recruited the highest number of new members to the association in the previous year. Member-to-member recruitment and retention efforts are highly valued because of the grassroots growth and stability they bring to the association. These efforts lend to the development of the general membership and the leadership pipeline, keeping the face of the GAHBA true to that of the industry and the scope of interests the GAHBA represents.
Through his leadership as Chairman of the Membership Committee, Vince Longo of Longo Homes helped the GAHBA grow nearly 4 percent in 2018 while maintaining an 82 percent retention rate. He also personally brought in 20 new members, making him the top recruiter for the association last year.
